tunes on friday

Alright, I’m going to try to limit this to once a week (although, the way I go through music, I’m not so sure it’ll stay that way). You’d be lucky if there was one post a month here that wasn’t me preaching about what you should listen to. Anywho, here’s a lineup of my favorite songs this week:

ALANIS MORISSETTE - UNDERNEATH
Another amazing track by Alanis. From what I’ve heard, I can say the same exact thing about her album. She’s managed to stay herself, and pump out new songs which are catchy

LADYTRON - TOMORROW
Although not the lead single off Velocifero, it’s still my favorite…or at least for now. Sure, I like Ghost, but this song seemed easier to fall in love with. The same as Witching Hour, this album is full of etheral synths and reverberated vocals, with a beautiful cover.

LIGHTS - ICE
I am so in love with this girl. I know my friends are sick of hearing it—and hearing me listening to it, but I can’t get enough of this song (or any of her songs, really). Her call-to-fame is providing music to the spring/summer Old Navy tv spots (and providing herself in the last ad), so there’s a good chance you’ve heard her.

PUSSYCAT DOLLS - WHEN I GROW UP
Don’t judge me. Okay, judge me. I am a sucker for a terrible pop song, especially if it is a. fierce or b. catchy. When I Grow Up is both, not very surprising when coming from PCD. I’m expecting this song to blow up on the radio this summer and be on the top of every 15 year old’s iTunes, just like all their other singles.

I have a ton of other things I keep putting on repeat, but you’ll just have to wait til next week. (Possibly as soon as tomorrow. Just kidding. …Maybe.)
