| crystal clear in oslo | |||||||
The future’s looking quite crystal clear in Oslo, Norway. The architectural future, that is. What we have here are a few renderings of an office building trio designed by architects C.F.Møller and Norwegian practice Kristin Jarmund Arkitekter.
The project, known as “crystal clear,” consists of a series of glass cubes stacked in a demostration of sustainable design (a concept which plays a major role in the project’s blueprints).
From Inhabitat, ‘ The towers will be replacing a former post office just next to the Central Station, and will contribute to the city’s plan to transform its town and port into a contemporary and lively waterfront. Together the three buildings total approximately 90,000 m² of offices, commercial space and possibly housing. Oslo is the cultural, scientific, economic, and governmental center of Norway, and the aesthetic sophistication and integrity of this project serves to reflect the importance of this modern city. ‘
Read a little more about this project at Inhabitat. While you’re there, snoop around. They’ve got a lot of really great articles on smart and sustainable design.

| new york: early december | |||||||
To demonstrate that I am actually a real person, and not just some mindless Ikea drone, here are some pictures from a New York City trip with Justin back in early December. Drove to Morristown, NJ, trained in to Penn Station, and spent the day shopping and visiting the Brooklyn Ikea.
Texting like a FIEND. What else is new. And ps—I’m not crying. It was just incredibly cold and windy out. Hence, why I rolled up in a ball while waiting for the Ikea Brooklyn shuttle.
It’s sort of hard to see here, but my phone is JACKED up. The wiring in the hinge has gotten messed up, and the speaker only works when its unfolded less than halfway. So I have to hold it like an idiot to hear who’s on the other end. STUPID.
I think it might be time for a trip up there again. I really want to hit up the CB2 store again.
Now that you’ve all seen enough of the back of my head, I’m prepping for a design entry next…I think.
