lamp lust

I have such an obsession for lamps (along with duvet covers, chalkboard walls, beakers, and countless other ridiculous things). I’m serious—it’s almost sickening.

Probably my most absolute favorite of all hanging lamps. Drop 2 by Buro Fur Form. If they weren’t $300 a pop, my bedroom would’ve probably been filled with these by now.

Drop comes in various sizes, and even in chandellier clusters. Like their solo counterparts, the clusters are just as pricey. Please, find an inexpensive way to mass-produce these. Pweaseee?

Pengies! In lamp form! KoK by Giuseppe Colonna Romano are adorable penguin shaped lamps in white or colors, all which stand about 16″ tall. Cute alone, but cuter in a huddle (Watch out though, at $120 a pop, a couple might put a fairly big dent in your budget).

Candeloo—rechargable, portable lamps for children (or anyone interested in adorable little lights) designed by Andreu Osika. At $59 for a set of two (blue/green or pink/orange) it’s one of the more affordable designer lamps (especially rechargable ones).

method madness
Okay, so I’ve always oogled over the method products all lined up beautifully in rows at target—their clean designs and simple packages being what gets me—but never really purchased them regularly mostly because I’m a poor college student. That was until I read on method lust that discontinued / overstock method products are hiding in big lots across the nation. I have finally picked up a boatload of cut grass aroma pills (that I’ve picked up and look at eighty times over at target) and some sweet water goodies (pill refills, hand soaps, laundry detergent), too! …All of which is half-priced compared to what everythign retails in target.

I guess you can add method to my list of addictions, right below ikea, panera, and pushing daisies.

new layout, maybe maybe

I am getting so frustrated coding this layout in wordpress. Most of it goes easy, but then there are stupid little things that just don’t work and it drive me crazy. I can never code a layout in one sitting—rather I need to go take a break and cool down. I’ve still got a ways to go, so stay tuned.

weapons of massive consumption

Of all the albums coming / that have came out this year, Lily Allen was on the top of my list, and has been making her way even farther up.

lily allen

Three tracks from her upcoming album Stuck On The Naughty Step have been posted/leaked, and here they are for listen (or two). I love them all, but my favorite is I Don’t Know by far. (GWB is the only high quality one—the other two are webrips).

I Don’t Know — In my eyes, I Don’t Know is sort of like a sequal to Everything’s Just Wonderful. Both songs have a similar feel to them, with straightforward lyrics that hit on personal and public issues. The combination of guitar, pausing beats, and spacey synths make it really easy to listen to (and love).

GWB (Fuck You Very Much) — Haha. Guess Who Batman! The first thing I thought of when I heard this was the themesong to that show CrankYankers. They both have a sort of Mr. Rogers / Childrens show melody to them, except GWB is a bit more mature, what with all it’s “fuck you’s” and such.

I Could Say — I love the piano in this song, and overall it is just a pretty tune with a fun beat to it. It’s definitely an IWABFSFM song.

good morning, sverige. klippan, billy, and expedit say hello!

After fixing Windows on my iMac, I finally got to install the Ikea stuff pack for the Sims 2, that I downloaded like two weeks ago. As someone with an [unhealthy] Ikea addiction, I’m highly disappointed with this addon. Sure, there are alot of things I love: LACK, MALM, and STORM. But the number of things missing outweighs those that are there.

Where is PAX? I want some sliding STORDAL doors with frosted glass, and fun racks and drawers inside. And dining room tables / chairs? What about JAMSUNDA! FORSA! BJURSTA!

The biggest thing I would’ve liked to have seen would be an extensive Ikea AKURUM/FAKTUM kitchen cabinet selection. It would be nice if they included most of their frame options, with a ton of door panel options (a LINJAR blue kitchen in the Sims would’ve been a great memorial, seeing as how it is being phased out in the real world).

6/10 Overall? There’s a ton of stuff that I love, but is it really worth the $20? Not really. Maybe $10 at the most. Buy it / pirate it—just don’t get too excited.

window works

In all my life, I have never seen display windows for any store as beautiful as those for Anthropologie. Hand-crafted [usually] from everyday objects and materials, the unique collages and 3d setups that accent displayed products are beyond amazing—maybe even beyond this world.

The surreal setups are like little worlds in their own, secluded and cut off from the outside world by just a pane of glass.

( MORE PICTURES AFTER THIS JUMP… )
